Seigeworld 2011

Had a great time at Seigeworld again this year. This years highlights were the nine lightnings that I got completed and the Great Gargant completed by Powell that towered above the game. This year had a smaller feel but the setup was awesome. I wasn't fighting over who to roll my dice against. I actually every turn used all my models. Last year I only used about half of what I brought.

To start my fighting force is below.

This year I added a number of items as you can see from below the 2010 army.

Like I said though the highlight for me was my lightnings that were able to take out three thunder hawks the turn they arrived.

The other highlight was the Great Gargant that was simply awesome.

The day was a lot of fun. It also showed how difficult armor 14 is to destroy with out melta. I was paired off against another guard player with like size if not larger army and it was a total stalemate until my veterans arrived. The ones that didn't run into vehicles deep striking in did a great job in his back field.

I am already planning for next year. My goal is to build 2 Warlords. This may sound silly to build two but doing them together is the best way and I have the motivation so why not.

So for everyone in the stl make sure you come next year June 30th to help break the vehicle record. Even if you only have five tanks it only takes one more to break the world record.

Here are some very cool tables that they have up at the Chicago Bunker.

The first is an awesome battlefield with two large trench systems.

The other table that was pretty cool was more of a beat down city.

Custom Stormraven Project

Custom stormraven for a friend. Took the Guard Valk like most do for this but did some different stuff. Took the whole kit and cut it in half. The goal was that I thought it should look a lot like a landraider or mini Thunderhawk.

The stormraven has since been painted up and I will post some of those pics once I get a chance.

The reason for this blog is to create a better gaming experience in the Greater St. Louis Area. I want to grow our group in St. Louis and eventually make this a destination area for large scale Gamesworkshop venues.

I will be posting results from local tournaments with pictures of some of the best armies I have seen. I run local tournaments for Warhammer 40k. I will also be talking about the upcomming ARD BOYZ Finals in Chicago where I will be fortunate enough to play in next month.

I will also be posting different projects I have worked on or will be working on. I will also be posting really anything cool I see from my local gaming circle here in the STL area.

About me is simple: Playing various GW games since I was 12. My first purchase was a Leman Russ which I am happy to say I still own today 16 years later. Its been painted about 5 times though.
